How to do well at Interview- Ways to Build Confidence!

Visualisation!
Imagine!
The state of confidence is created by PICTURES we create in our mind, how we speak to ourselves and our posture.

We can create confidence by IMAGINING it.
It is a HABIT- it is mental rehearsal and we need to PRACTISE it over and over again.
You need to IMAGINE the interview step by step-
• arriving at the venue
• walking in
• shaking hands
• building the rapport
• answering each question smoothly and easily
over and over again until it is second nature, until it is hard wired into your mind and muscle memory to succeed. (Just like playing a football match, playing the piano, learning to cycle, etc. )
You practise what you become.
We are what repeatedly do.
Habit!
Imagine the Interview.
How would your POSTURE be?
How would your VOICE sound?

Do not think about the negative side or overthink certain scenarios. This will make you more nervous. Prepare as much as you can, give 100%, know that you gave it your all, then leave it. Do not put too much pressure on yourself.
It is only a conversation- they would be lucky to have you. You do your part, do your best . Then it’s on them. You can relax knowing that you did all that you can.

Have a POSITIVE mindset.

Be genuine, be yourself.
Be authentic in every situation.
Be optimistic
Do not compare yourself to others- the Interview Panel shortlisted YOU.
They liked what they read on your application. You stood out to them. Now bring your application form to life- drive the true you home, with your REAL LIFE examples.
Choose interesting examples to back up the theory and the practice.
Show the Interview Panel that as well as having the qualifications that you have the hands on experiences too.

Put previous negative experiences out of your mind- reframe the way you think. Be positive.

Always be yourself- that is more than enough. Appreciate yourself. Be confident in yourself. You are highly qualified. You know your material; you have your strong examples, now practise how you say it for a smooth delivery- 2-3 points, back up with examples. Stay on point.
When you answer your question, link it back to a real life story if relevant.

Do not learn off answers, but be rehearsed and comfortable with what you are saying. Record yourself on laptop or phone if you want, or speak to a friend or in front of the mirror!
Just do not let the interview be the first time you hear yourself answer typical questions.

Show the Interview Panel the REAL YOU. You are having a conversation- think of having a conversation with someone you know and trust.
Bring that passion and drive to life where you are your true, real self.

Smile. Make good eye contact.
Be genuine, authentic. Focus on your merits, skills, characteristics, positive affirmations. You have your preparation done. You trust in yourself and your abilities. You have researched the school. You are more than ready. Take your time, keep to the point and be at ease.
You’ve done this in your mind over and over- now Go get them!
You’ve got this!
